STUDIO BRIEF 2 - PART 2 & 3 - Promo Pack : Merchandise

Ideas

Finding printing sites

This one took 5 working days which I thought was quite long and has a minimum order of 10 when I only want to print on one ideally for now, but this would be good to consider using for the site.

I found an old website I used last year for key rings coasters fridge magnets etc called Blank Plastic. I decided to use it again because everyone seemed to like those last year and I got people contacting me wanting to buy them.

This is what I ordered:

Setting those up on Photoshop

Key ring (back)

Key ring (front )

 Pen

I also looked at other print sites to print on other products for the pack. I came across this site photo box which was fairly priced I thought:

I created my own mug

And made an iPhone case!

The arrival of those:

PRICES

The iPhone covers are £16 just to buy, so I would need to sell them for at least £20 just to make a good profit off them, which I'm not sure people would pay! I need to find a cheaper site.

RESEARCH INTO CHEAPER IPHONE 6 CASES

I've chosen iPhone 6 because that is the most popular at the minute.

CASEAPP - STILL £12, but better than £16, I could sell for £18 and make a good profit.

CREATEMYCASE - £14.95

I'd also love to have an iPad skin and macbook skin.

The mugs are £8 so again I'd have to sell them for at least £12 to make a good profit off of. But looking at other sites I think £8 is pretty reasonable, some are more expensive:

Even then, £4 isn't much of a profit, but is realistic for what people will buy it for. I will have to re think the iPhone covers I think.

Looking at market research of how personalised iPhone covers sell in other stores, Paperchase sell them for £12 and TOPSHOP sell them for £15-20 so I need to be realistic.

SEEING THE PHYSICAL PRODUCT

I am over the moon with these because now I finally start to get a feel of what I can be producing for the site. I think they're a great factor of my promo pack because this is showing the type of thing people can expect to buy. It's great to see it in real life and touch it - although I was nit picking at things wrong with it. The head on the mug is too close to the handle it needs moving further over to the left, the Bow Down text needs moving up and isn't big enough. Other than that I am so happy to just see things coming together in the flesh and its opened my eyes to what I can do!

What to put the products into:

Last year I used a box but it didn't all fit in very well, I think this year I will use a bag. Keep it black and white, and put a bow down sticker over it to seal it.

Paperchase bags and boxes:

I really liked the look of this site for tote bags to perhaps put my products into for the promo pack but then when I came to order they were £1.96 each, and a minimum of 100 so it would be £196!  Hell nawww
